The Crutch Cozies Story

The first Crutch Cozy was truly born out of necessity. In the spring of 2003, Crutch Cozies founder Gina fractured her leg skiing. She endured the accident and the surgery only to find herself on crutches -- for the next four months. As her recovery progressed, the discomfort she experienced from her crutches became a daily struggle.

Not long after her accident, Gina paid a visit to her friend and co-founder Alexis. Exhausted and in pain from taking the bus and hobbling four city blocks to her destination, Gina asked Alexis if there was any way to make her crutches more bearable. Alexis wasted no time and set to work designing Gina's first pair of Crutch Cozies with the perfect balance of comfort and style. After only one day with her new pair, Gina was hooked and refused to take them off. Not only was she much more comfortable, capable of doing more, and walking farther in a day -- she was also receiving an enormous amount of attention from people wanting to know where she had found her Crutch Cozies.

Alexis and Gina saw at once a genuine need for stylish crutch accessories and began refining the design, selecting the perfect materials, and finally launching Crutch Cozies as a business. They are pleased to introduce the first line of Crutch Cozies which they hope will help ease the pain and lift the spirits of people on crutches everywhere.
